Password protected files contain sensitive information and in most cases they contain passwords to other applications :

banking logins, email logins, pin numbers,id numbers,usernames...etc
Essentially 'passwords contain passwords'.

In the cyber security eco system, the weakest link in any information technology security infrastructure is and always will be the password keeper.

The password keeper can be :

- Tricked, phished, vished , convinced , misled , misdirected to reveal their password or even knowingly and unknowingly disclose the password to friends , family or work colleagues - rendering a file easily accessible.

- The password keeper can be cyber attacked via a key Logger ( a program that records all keyboard activity and sends the information to a hacker/3rd party)

- The password keeper can be cyber attacked via a R.A.T (remote access trojan - that sits on a computer collecting/controlling and distributing data)

A usb device cannot be tricked, phished, vished or have a change of mind.
